How to Install
Tools and Materials Needed:
Replacement euro profile sashlock
Euro profile cylinder (if not already installed)
Screwdriver
Chisel
Hammer
Pencil
Tape measure

Instructions:
1. Remove the Euro Profile Cylinder (if applicable):
a. Insert the key into the existing euro profile cylinder and turn it to the unlocked position.
b. On the inside of the door, locate the small retaining screw on the side of the euro profile cylinder. c. Use a screwdriver to loosen and remove the retaining screw.
d. Pull the euro profile cylinder out of the sashlock from the outside of the door.
2. Remove the Old Sashlock:
a. Ensure the door is open.
b. Remove the screws securing the strike plate and knob/lever on the door edge.
c. Carefully unscrew and remove the cover plate on the door face.
d. Gently tap the old euro profile sashlock out of the door using a hammer and chisel. Be cautious not to damage the surrounding wood.
3. Measure and Prepare:
a. Measure the backset (distance from the edge of the door to the center of the lock) of your old euro profile sashlock.
b. Use this measurement to mark the door edge for the new sashlock's location. Ensure it aligns with your door handle or knob.
4. Install the New Sashlock:
a. Insert the new euro profile sashlock into the prepared cavity, ensuring the faceplate is flush with the door edge.
b. Secure the sashlock in place with the provided screws.
c. Attach the cover plate on the door face, aligning it with the sashlock.
5. Reinsert the Euro Profile Cylinder (if applicable):
a. Insert the euro profile cylinder into the new sashlock from the outside of the door.
b. Ensure the keyway is aligned correctly with the sashlock mechanism.
c. Secure the euro profile cylinder in place by tightening the retaining screw on the side.
6. Test the Lock:
a. Close the door and test the lock to ensure it functions correctly. It should latch smoothly without sticking.
b. Insert the key and test the euro profile cylinder to ensure it locks and unlocks smoothly.
7. Adjustments and Finishing Touches (Optional):
a. If the sashlock's faceplate doesn't sit flush with the door edge, you can chisel the recess slightly deeper or use wood filler to level it.
b. Sand any rough edges or surfaces for a neat appearance.
8. Reassemble Door Hardware:
a. Reattach the door handle, knob, or lever using the previously removed screws.
b. Tighten them securely.
