How to Install

Instructions:

1. Remove the Old Door Handle:
a. Open the Door: Ensure the door is open and stable.
b. Locate Screws: Identify the screws holding the old door handle in place. These are typically found on the inside handle plate.
c. Remove Screws: Use a screwdriver to remove these screws. Keep them safe if they are to be reused.
d. Remove Handle: Carefully pull both the interior and exterior handles away from the door.

2. Prepare for the New Handle:
a. Inspect the Area: Check the door and lock mechanism for any damage or debris and clean if necessary.
b. Measure: Measure the distance between the screw holes and the size of the spindle to ensure the new handle set is a match.

3. Install the New Door Handle:
a. Insert Spindle: Place the spindle through the lock mechanism from the exterior side of the door.
b. Position Exterior Handle: Align the exterior handle with the spindle and the screw holes. Insert the handle.
c. Attach Interior Handle: Position the interior handle on the spindle, aligning it with the screw holes on the door. Ensure both handles are properly aligned with each other.

4. Secure the Handles:
a. Insert Screws: Using the provided screws or the screws from the old handle, secure the interior handle to the door. Ensure they are tight but do not overtighten to avoid damaging the handle or the door.
b. Check Alignment: Make sure the handles are straight and aligned correctly.

5. Test the Handle:
a. Operate the Handle: Test the door handle by opening and closing the door several times to ensure smooth operation.
b. Adjust if Necessary: If the handle feels stiff or does not operate smoothly, check the alignment and the tightness of the screws. Adjust as needed.

6. Final Checks:
a. Check Lock Functionality: Ensure that the lock mechanism operates correctly with the new handle installed.
b. Tighten Screws: Give a final check to ensure all screws are securely tightened.

Congratulations! You have successfully replaced your UPVC front door handle.

Solid, not flimsy

The polished brass finish catches the light just right, giving off this warm, classy vibe that makes my entryway pop, way better than the tired white handle it replaced. It’s an offset lever/pad setup, with a 62mm PZ outside and 92mm inside, so it’s secure and smooth to operate; the lever springs back crisp every time I push it down to unlatch.

Nice smooth finish with corrosion resistant alloy construction

XFORT have produced a quality pair of door handles that are nicely finished and well priced at £23.99 (at the time of writing this). The handle is not magnetic and, as suggested, looks to be made of aluminium that’s coated with a brass finish. The kit comes boxed with short and long spindles, and a pair of length adjustable fixing screws. One of the plastic positioning lugs was snapped off and rattling round the box, but I was still able to use the handles. Also, there was no instruction manual in the box but fitting guidelines were available in the listing and the handles are quite straight forward to install. The handles feel generally well made with a smooth and precise finish to the casing and the door handles. The spring mechanism is equally satisfying and the handles operate smoothly. The brass finish is quite orangey and vibrant; not yellow gold, so be sure it will suit the intended interior. If the colour and size matches the requirements then these are worth a look.

Good quality offset handles. Steel construction, not alloy as stated.

This is a pair of offset handles, most suitable for a front door that has a lock with offset spindles, which prevents it being opened from the outside without a key.The handles are not quite as described in the listing. I have tried similar sets from the same maker in the past, and the painted (black or white) ones have had cases made from cast aluminium and zinc alloy (Zamac). These brass-finished ones are clearly made from pressed steel, with the lugs welded on. That is not necessarily a bad thing. We have had issues with some alloy handles corroding and flaking off the paint coating. These are chrome-plated, with brass effect colouring, and could be more durable. The handles are nicely-packed with spare short spindles and alternate length screws with heads to match the handle's finish.I used the inner handle to replace a white one in a passage door, not the whole set. It was necessary to remove the lock cylinder because it has a large thumb turn. If the handle can pass over the lock, it can stay in place. They are quite easy to fit, as long as the dimensions are the same as the old handles. This seems to be a common size.Good value at £23.99 before any discount.

Shiny and Secure Door Grip

I put this door handle on my back door, and it looks smart. The brass finish is quite polished, and it gives the door a nice look. It feels solid in my hand. The fitting was simple enough; all the screws were included, which is always helpful. It fits the UPVC door without any issues. The handle feels strong when you use it. I like the added security feature; knowing it can't be opened without a key adds a sense of safety. It's a basic, functional handle that does its job well. It's built to last, and it seems like it will handle daily use without a problem. For the price, it's a decent upgrade.
