How to Install
Installation Instructions
1. Choose the Installation Points:
a. Decide where on the window frame and sash (the moving part of the window) you want to install the restrictor.
b. Typically, install the cable restrictor in the middle of the frame for balanced restriction.
2. Mark the Positions:
a. Use a measuring tape and pencil to mark the positions where the restrictor ends will be installed.
3. Drill Pilot Holes:
a. Drill pilot holes at the marked points. These holes should be slightly smaller than the screws provided in the kit.
4. Attach the Cable Ends:
a. Attach one end of the cable restrictor to the window frame using the screws provided.
b. Attach the other end to the sash, ensuring the cable has the desired slack to restrict the window opening to the specified distance.
5. Add Housing:
a. Place the housing onto one end of the cable restrictor for additional security and neatness.
6. Measure Opening:
a. Open the window to ensure that it only opens to the limited extent allowed by the cable restrictor.
7. Mark Position of Other Side:
a. Mark the position for the other side of the cable restrictor on the sash.
8. Drill Pilot Holes and Attach:
a. Drill pilot holes at the marked points on the sash.
b. Screw in the other end of the cable restrictor, making sure the cable has the desired slack.
9. Test:
a. Test the restrictor by opening the window to ensure it only opens to the restricted distance and the installation is secure.
