How to Install

How to Install a Surface-Mounted Sliding Heavy Bolt

Step 1: Gather Tools and Materials

Tools Needed:
Drill
Screwdriver
Pencil
Measuring Tape

Step 2: Determine Placement

Choose the area on the door or gate for the bolt and Keep section.

Ensure it's at a comfortable height and easily accessible.

Use the measuring tape and pencil to mark the spots for drilling.

Step 3: Mark and Drill Holes

Hold the bolt and Keep section against the marked spots to identify screw hole locations.

Mark these spots for drilling using the components as guides.

Carefully drill holes at the marked spots using an appropriate drill bit size.

Step 4: Install the Bolt and Keep

Position the bolt and Keep section over the drilled holes.

Securely fasten them onto the door/gate using screws.

Ensure they are firmly attached and leveled.

Step 5: Test and Adjust

Slide the bolt back and forth to ensure smooth movement.

Confirm that it securely latches when in the closed position.

Make any necessary adjustments for proper alignment.

Additional Tips:

Apply lubrication to the bolt occasionally for smoother operation.

Double-check measurements and alignment before drilling to avoid errors.

Had to fix

Threads on knobs were to long which stopped the main body sitting flush so had to cut them down and the tapping thread in the knob not level so not sitting flush. if l hadn't needed these straight away l would not have kept them.
