How to Install
Remove Existing Hardware:
Open the door and unscrew the existing door handle or knob. Slide out the spindle connecting the handles and then pull out the old latch from the edge of the door.
Clean the Area:
Ensure the latch area on the door edge is clean and free of debris. If the new latch is a different size, you might need to enlarge or adjust the existing hole.
Insert New Latch:
Slide the new latch into the existing hole. Ensure it sits flush with the door edge.
Secure Latch Plate:
If the latch plate (the flat piece that sits against the door edge) aligns with the old screw holes, use them. Otherwise, mark new holes, drill if necessary, and secure the plate with screws.
Install Door Handle:
Align the spindle of your existing handle with the hole in the latch and attach the handle to both sides of the door. Secure it with screws.
Test the Latch:
Check that the door closes smoothly and the latch engages and retracts without sticking
