How to Install
Fitting Instructions: Bathroom Door Handle Pack
(Lever on Rose Handles, Bathroom Mortice Lock, Hinges & Turn & Release)
Disclaimer: These instructions are for replacing existing door hardware on a standard internal wooden door. Ensure the area is clean and free from dust before starting. Always support the door when working on hinges.
What's Included:
• 1 x Pair of lever on rose door handles
• 1 x Bathroom mortice lock (reversible latch)
• 1 x Bathroom turn & release set
• 3 x Door hinges
• Spindles (handle and thumbturn)
• Bolt-through fixing screws (recommended for secure installation)
• Surface-mounted fixing screws
Note: Both fixing options are provided. For a stronger and more durable installation, we recommend using the bolt-through fixings where possible.
What's Required:
Screwdriver
Drill with appropriate drill bits
Pencil
Tape measure or ruler
Chisel (if minor adjustments are needed)
Installation Steps
1. Prepare the Door
• Remove all existing hardware, including handles, lock, and turn & release.
• Ensure all openings are clean and free from debris before installing new components.
2. Install the Hinges
• Position the new hinges in the existing recesses on the door and frame.
• Replace one hinge at a time to help keep the door aligned.
• Secure each hinge using the screws provided.
• Check the door opens and closes smoothly before continuing.
3. Prepare & Install the Bathroom Mortice Lock
• Check the direction of the latch before installation.
• The angled side of the latch should face the door frame.
If needed, reverse the latch:
• Pull the latch forward.
• Rotate it 180 degrees.
• Release it back into position.
• Insert the lock into the existing mortice in the door edge.
• Ensure it sits flush and aligned.
• Secure the faceplate with screws.
4. Insert the Spindles
• Insert the handle spindle through the latch follower.
• Insert the thumbturn spindle through the privacy section of the lock.
5. Position & Align the Handles and Turn & Release
• Place the lever handles on both sides of the door.
• Position the thumbturn on the inside and the emergency release on the outside.
• Ensure all components are straight and level.
6. Mark Fixing Points
• Using a pencil, mark all fixing holes for the handles and turn & release.
• Mark bolt-through holes if using bolt-through fixings.
7. Remove & Drill Pilot Holes
• Carefully remove all components.
• Drill pilot holes at the marked positions.
• Ensure holes are straight and clean.
8. Reassemble & Secure
• Reinsert both spindles through the lock.
• Refit the handles and turn & release.
• Secure using bolt-through fixings or surface-mounted screws.
• Tighten all screws until secure.
9. Test the Door
• Open and close the door to ensure smooth movement.
• Test the handles to ensure the latch retracts correctly.
• Test the thumbturn to ensure the lock engages and disengages properly.
• Test the emergency release from the outside.
• Make any small adjustments if needed.
