Note: Depending on your door or window, the lock can be installed using either the metal sleeve for the locking bolt to locate into, or the strike plate where this is more suitable for your application.

What's Required:
Screwdriver
Drill with suitable drill bits
Pencil
Tape measure or ruler

Installation Steps
1. Choose the Lock Position:

• Close the door or window and choose a suitable position for the lock.
• Position the lock so the locking bolt can extend into the adjoining frame or strike plate without obstruction.
• Make sure there is enough space to comfortably push the bolt and insert the key.

2. Position & Mark the Lock:

• Hold the lock body against the door or window in your chosen position.
• Make sure it is straight and correctly aligned with the frame.
• Use a pencil to mark the fixing holes through the lock body.

3. Mark the Bolt Position:

• With the lock still correctly positioned, identify where the locking bolt will meet the adjoining frame.
• Mark the centre of this position carefully.
• This will determine where the metal sleeve or strike plate needs to be fitted.

4. Choose Your Fitting Method:

If Using a Metal Sleeve:
• Drill a suitable hole at the marked bolt position.
• Insert the metal sleeve into the hole.
• Check that the locking bolt can enter the sleeve freely without catching.

If Using the Strike Plate:
• Position the strike plate so its opening aligns with the locking bolt.
• Mark the fixing points with a pencil.
• Drill pilot holes if required, then secure the strike plate using the appropriate screws.
• Check that the bolt passes cleanly through the opening.

5. Secure the Lock:

• Drill suitable pilot holes at the fixing points marked earlier.
• Reposition the lock and secure it using the fixing screws provided.
• Tighten the screws until the lock is firmly held in place, taking care not to overtighten.

6. Check the Alignment:

• Close the door or window and push the locking bolt towards the metal sleeve or strike plate.
• Check that it enters smoothly and fully without needing to force it.
• If the bolt catches or does not align correctly, adjust the position before continuing.

7. Test the Lock:

• With the door or window closed, push the bolt into position to lock it.
• Check that the bolt is securely engaged and cannot be released by simply pulling it back.
• Insert the key and turn it to release the locking mechanism.
• Check that the bolt releases and moves freely.
• Repeat a few times to make sure everything operates smoothly.

Final Note:

You've now successfully installed your patio door lock. Before regular use, check that the lock is securely fixed and that the bolt engages and releases smoothly.
